Fire damages apartments
Firefighters work to battle a blaze at the Van Mark Apartments in Ridgeland last Wednesday.

RIDGELAND — No injuries were reported in an apartment building fire here last week that damaged about eight units.
The Ridgeland Fire Department responded to the Van Mark Apartments, 6811 Old Canton Road, at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, to reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the roof of the building. Firefighters made an “aggressive interior attack” to control the fire, officials said.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
The Madison Fire Department responded as mutual aid.
