The Holmes Community College Goodman Campus Art Department recently hosted the Annual District High School “Postcard” Art Competition. High Schools from Holmes’ nine district counties participated, and an Open House was held on Saturday, Oct. 21, during Holmes Homecoming.

  • Madison Central Speech and Debate wins 2nd overall
    The Madison Central Speech and Debate Team continued it's successful season this past weekend at the DeSoto Central Tournament held in Southaven. The team earned second place overall sweepstakes continuing their placement in the top three at each tournament since the beginning of the year, despite bringing a small squad of only sixteen members. Also, every team member present ended up breaking to quarterfinals or higher in at least one of their events.

  • C Spire headline hosts C3 program for area high schoolers
    C Spire held a day-long C3 program on Wednesday at the company’s Ridgeland headquarters that featured teams of up to four students each from 30 high schools from nine central Mississippi counties competing for scholarships and other tech-related prizes.  An April competition featured 13 teams from schools in Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties.
